Co-op Classes

Class descriptions for 2024-2025. We look forward to this years co-op. 

This year's co-op will be once a month on Thursdays at Music Camp. The calendar will be posted soon.

****PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR COOP****

**Our teachers put a lot into their class and when students don't come, it makes the teachers not want to teach again. So, attendance will be taken at this year's co-op. If your child has more than one absences without notice  ( before the start of class on the day of, is okay) your child will be removed from classes, so other students can participate. More than 2 absences with notices your child could be removed.  Please make every effort to come to classes you sign up for. ***

***ALL COOP FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE ONCE TEACHERS ARE PAID. THEY ARE USUALLY PAID BY OR ON THE FIRST COOP CLASS**


A rental fee for each family will be $35. 

Children's Introduction to Spanish 

A class for upper elementary and middle school age kids that will teach themed, basic

Spanish words. Examples: counting, months, days of the week, household items, body

part names (eyes=ojos, nose=nariz, etc.), some verb conjugation (I go, you go, we go,

they go, etc.).

Ages 3rd grade thru 8th grade

Character Building with Brave Books

We will be learning about biblically based values such as freedom, honesty, justice, etc.

by diving into the world of Brave Books. We will study two books each class. After

reading the books, we will do character-building group activities that are connected to

the books.

Ages: 4-12

Don't Die in the Woods

Outdoor survival class. Topics include: learning to read a compass, identify poison oak,

and identify venomous snakes of Alabama.

Age range: 7-12

Price: $10

Intro to Poetry 

Learn about different types of poetry and famous poets from history while we observe

famous works of art.


Ages: Pre K-12th

Price: $5

U.S. History

Learn about U.S. history in a fun and engaging class. The class will summarize from colonial times to the present day.

Ages: 5-12

Price: $10

Jelly of the Month Club 

Every month we will make a new seasonal jelly or jam and learn the difference
between them. You will take home a 1/2 pint jar each month. 


August- peach jam

Sept- apple butter

October- cherry jam  

November- Cranberry apple jam

December- pomegranate jelly

January- grape jelly

February- strawberry jam

March- dandelion jelly

April- blackberry jam

Preschool Story Time

Students will be read a story based on the season or Holiday of the month.

Then they will do a craft and have a snack. 


Ages 2- 5

Limit of 10 students

Spy Academy the Top-Secret World of Espionage


Become a secret agent and study the fascinating and covert world of spies.

Learners take a journey through both historic and present day tactics used in undercover activity. 

Dust for prints, study famous spies, learn about the role of covert operations in major world wars, solve puzzles and have fun. 


Ages -3rd grade and up

Limit 15 students

Bible Trivia 

A study of the Bible through trivia games

Price: $15

3rd grade and up

Class limit of 15 for the Bible Trivia.

Examples for next years classes: 

(Remember teachers get first pick for their students)

Cooking ( Meals, Sweets, Exotic, etc.) ,Bible Stories, Sewing, Art, History, Science ( ex. Why slime is slimy?, Dissection, weather, animals) , Languages (Spanish, Sign, French, etc.), Personal Finance , Life skills ( first aid, garden planting, map reading, etc.), Cake Decorating , Alabama History, Team Building for Teens, Music Lessons. 


 

Dress & Behavior Code

Please talk with your children about keeping their conversations clean and appropriate.  We home school our children to limit their exposure to inappropriate behavior.

Please review the Parental Agreement document, and be sure to follow the dress code at all school functions

We want our children to have fun, but please remember that Sis Rena is graciously allowing us to utilize her facilities and playground for our Co-op classes, and as such, it should be revered. 

Please be sure to talk to your children about respecting the property.
